If you're looking for some yummy jerk chicken and you happen to be in the Connecticut area be sure to check out the Caribbean Jerk Fest in Bridgeport.
The annual event will be held on Saturday August 21, 2010 where hundreds of local members of the community will come together to celebrate all elements of Caribbean culture, especially the food.
The event is organized annually by the West Indian American Association of Greater Bridgeport.
Proceeds from the jerk fest will go to community youth centers and programs in Connecticut. The summer tradition in Bridgeport brings countless people to the town to enjoy some authentic Caribbean dishes.
If you happen to be in Connecticut or don't mind a change in scenery it will most definitely be the place to be for all things Caribbean.

One thing i like about it is that it is jerk dishes are generally not prepared by smoking by instead over a barbecue grill, or even in a normal kitchen oven. Many people believe that jerk dishes taste best when cooked on a wood or charcoal grill - and some would even suggest placing some pimento wood or berries on the coals when cooking in order to add the flavor.
